BANGKOK, 21 JULY 2022 — MR. D.I.Y., the largest home improvement retailer in Thailand, celebrates the Grand Opening Ceremony of its 500th store at Lotus’s Bangkapi today. The momentous celebration marks a significant milestone for the retailer after six years in the country. From a single store in 2016 to operating 500 stores nationwide today, MR. D.I.Y. is truly a wholesome brand loved by the Thai people.

D.I.Y.’s store at Lotus’s Bangkapi offers customers a spacious 1,100 sqm store that showcases more than 18,000 types of products across 10 categories; namely hardware, household, electrical, car accessories, furnishing, stationery & sports, toys, gifts, computer & handphone accessories, and jewellery & cosmetics. MR. D.I.Y. is committed to serving the local communities, particularly those who live and work within the Bang Kapi District, offering the convenience of a one-stop shop, and quality products at “Always Low Prices”.

Speaking at the event, MR. D.I.Y. (Thailand) Chief Executive Officer, Andy Chin said, “We opened our first store in Bangkok back in 2016. Today, we are proud to celebrate our 500th Grand Opening in Lotus’s Bangkapi. We expect to serve 50 million customers this year through all our stores in Thailand. Chin added that this milestone store is significant for MR. D.I.Y.’s growth as Thailand’s leading home improvement brand. The retailer’s goal was deservedly cemented by its Brand of the Year Regional Award in the World Branding Awards win late last year, which marks the retailer’s fourth consecutive win for the prestigious award.

“We would like to express our thanks to Lotus’s for partnering with us on this journey since 2016. Their support has enabled us to operate 86 stores in Lotus’s nationwide, MR. D.I.Y. will add four new stores in the pipeline, making 90 stores with Lotus’s by end of 2022.” Previously, MR. D.I.Y. celebrated its 100th store in Bangyai, Nonthaburi, and 200th store in Rama 4 with the supermarket chain in 2018 and 2020, respectively.

“MR. D.I.Y.’s target for 2022 is to open 150 new stores in Thailand, with 90 stores opened in the first half of the year, bringing the total number of stores to 550 by end of 2022. This positive growth will enable us to create over 2,500 new employment opportunities for the people of Thailand,” said Chin.

In conjunction with this momentous celebration, MR. D.I.Y. is organising a nationwide promotion with discounts of up to 30% on selected products from today to 31 July 2022. Consumer contest and freebies giveaway up to 2 million THB exclusive for the 500th store celebration. MR.
