Bangkok, 5 August 2024 – MR. D.I.Y. Thailand collaborates with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), along with its executives and over 50 employees, to join forest plantation activity expanding green spaces as part of the One Million Trees Planting Project at the Benchakitti Forest Park. The activity includes the donation of 800 perennial and royal trees together with products from MR. D.I.Y. stores worth over 53,000 Baht. Moreover, MR. D.I.Y. also donates 1,000 recycled plastic bottles as part of the Bangkok Magic Hands project aiming to reduce plastic waste and protect workers by turning PET bottles into reflective safety garments. This activity was held to celebrate the milestone of MR. D.I.Y. reached over 800 stores in Thailand and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting sustainable growth in Thai society under the MR. D.I.Y. Cares project.
Andy Chin, Chief Executive Officer of MR. D.I.Y. Thailand emphasised the company's commitment to sustainable business practices: “Over the past eight years, MR. D.I.Y. has operated in Thailand with a focus on fairness, transparency, and community responsibility. As the leading home improvement retailer with the largest number of stores in Thailand, we are dedicated to contributing to the nation’s goal of achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2050 and Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2065. This year, we celebrate the expansion to 803 stores in 74 provinces (as of June 2024) by partnering with BMA to plant trees that will help absorb carbon dioxide and act as a dust shield for Thai people."
